Cool outdoor seating

by Cristina Colli

Today the sun is out, and although it’s still a bit chilly for my taste, I keep thinking of spending some leisure time reading, napping, eating or chatting with friends in the garden. For the moment, I will content myself with pictures of outdoor furniture that recently caught my eye:

Moroso outdoor chair

Vibrant and colourful, O-Nest by designer Tord Boontje is a  moulded polyethylene armchair produced by Moroso. Waterproof and fade-resistant, this cute chair is available in 8 colours. I love the green and the violet version.

Evoking the beach furniture tipically found at the North Sea in the twenties, The Shadowy Chair and Sunlounge by  designer Tord Boontje are produced by Moroso; the funky, African-inspired coloured patterns are woven by expert African craftsmen using coloured plastic threads.

A cute chair inspired by a blossoming flower, Clover is a moulded polyethylene armchair produced by Driade; suitable for both indoor and outdoor, Clover is available in green, white and orange.

Designed by Giuseppe Viganò, Ellipses is a modular seating system with a distinctive, light elliptical shape, produced by Pierantonio Bonacina; suitable for outdoor, it is available in white and black. A great example of the power of repeated shapes in design.
