Decorating with accessories: Lorna Syson’s flower power textiles

by Cristina Colli

Yesterday on Twitter I came across Lorna Syson and her gorgeous handmade wall flowers, and I was stunned. If you love flowers,  like I do,  you cannot help falling in love with Lorna’s original, whimsical work. Beautifully crafted, her wall flowers come in wonderful colours, in different shapes and sizes.

If you want to add  a splash of colour -  and wow factor! – to a white or neutral interior, a single wall flower is perfect. If you’re looking for a bold statement, you can go for a group installation of several flowers; the result would be simply amazing.

Lorna  makes wall hearts using the same technique – aren’t they lovely?

She also creates small framed wall flowers & hearts, and collections of beautiful cushions.

Lorna works with wool, satin fabric and even stinging nettles, and her textiles are sustainable and eco certified. Her work is exquisite and looks lovely even in neutral colours.

I’ll be watching Lorna to see what other stunning work she comes up with. Aren’t her textiles fantastic?

I enjoyed the brilliant colors of the designs. I am not sure about having a wall heart piece. It’s beautiful but I find it dramatic and not me. I prefer them framed. But most certainly, yes to cushion covers in floral themes!

Hi Evelyn,
I prefer the wall flowers to the wall hearts too, but they’re both gorgeous. The framed hearts are cute, aren’t they? Thanks for stopping by :)
